Agnes Allen

Agnes Szabo Komlos Allen, age 94, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. 

Agnes was born in Gyomro, Hungary on July 13, 1926, daughter of the late Sandor and Anna Kanitz Szabo.

Agnes was a Professional Ballerina for the Budapest Private Opera Company. She taught private ballet lessons in Philadelphia.

She was a Holocaust survivor and was proud to tell anyone she met that she had accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior and that He had performed so many miracles in her life.  She was a member of Community United Church in Erie where she had many dear friends. She loved spending time in her flower garden. She cherished her little home and enjoyed her time with her long time friend and companion John.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Komlos and a sister, Veronica Halmagy.

She is survived by her daughters, Gabriella Hamilton of Charlotte, NC and Annette Hobbs of Willow Grove, PA; a son, Thomas Komlos (Virginia) of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A public memorial service that was to be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 7 p.m. at Community United Church, 1011 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508, has been POSTPONED.  A new day and time for the Memorial Service will be announced on a future date. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, Pa.
