Adelia Janice LaPlaca

Adelia Janice LaPlaca, age 82, of Erie, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge.

She was born in Greenville, PA on August 31, 1941, the daughter of the late Dominic and Philomena (D’Alfonso) Guerrini. 

She worked as a missionary in the Philippine Islands for several years. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Salvatore “Sam” LaPlaca; daughters, Stephanie Lynn Sherwood and her husband Tom of Fairview, PA, and Monica Lynn Markham and her husband Jason of Concord, CA; a twin sister, Jeanette Guerrini of Warren, OH; a brother Jim Guerrini of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Samantha Sherwood, Kacey Sherwood, Katelyn Markham and Sierra Markham; and great-granddaughter Adelia Pratt, her namesake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Anthony Guerrini, Mary Brucoli, Jeanne Mums, Phil Longiotti and Victoria Guerrini.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th Street on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 2 until time of service at 5. 

Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
