Adam Yurkewicz

Adam Joseph Yurkewicz, age 28, of Erie, PA passed away Saturday January 6, 2018 at UPMC Hamot.

The woods hold a silence and the streams a stillness since we lost our beloved son to the tragic epidemic of addiction.  Adam was born on April 25, 1989 and will be remembered for his incredibly generous and giving heart, gentle soul, quiet humor, and tremendous depth of love for his family.  

Adam loved to hunt, fish, root for his Green Bay Packers, and use his gift of carpentry and handyman talents to help others.  He was devoted to his grandparents and displayed selfless love as their caregiver for the last seven months.  

Adam was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Carol Nather, maternal uncle, Richard Nather Jr., and cousin, John Michael Yurkewicz.

Deeply heartbroken at his loss are his parents, Gary E. and Kimberly A. (Nather) Yurkewicz Sr.; daughters, Hailey Marie Patterson and London Turk; brother, Gary E. Yurkewicz Jr.; sister, Kayla A. Yurkewicz (Shawn Lupole); nephews, Liam and Rowan Lupole; paternal grandparents, Steve and Marlene Yurkewicz; his true love, Kayla J. Turk; as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins who genuinely loved him.

Though we weep tears of loss, we find comfort in Adam’s wholeness in eternal life and the lives he healed through organ donation.  We pray others gain wisdom and strength to fight this dreaded illness of addiction.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St., Erie, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. with Fr. Larry Richards of St Joseph Church/Bread of Life Community, presiding.
